They are electrical switches that can be used reading the ignition status of a mechanism, or to turn on or off a device (eg: motor starter). Installation can be done by connecting the relay to device to be controlled and to the GPS locator (Eteria Mobile Tracker). GPS can read switch status and record it on the cloud, or set relay to open mode, according to the user's needs. Main methods of using relays are:

• In read mode relays can be connected to power take-offs, engine starters, flashing lights, salt distributors and any other type of drive. Each time device is activated, GPS reads it and the operation is recorded for the following processing.
• In write mode relays are used to set device status from an online application: typical solution is the vehicle starter deactivation or activation from the online app. In this case, GPS should preferably be installed directly with battery (NOT under the key-on signal) so as to be able to change status even when vehicle is turned off. In this way energy consumption on the battery is more intense and must be taken into account when a long inactivity of the vehicle is expected.
